what i read in december*
*I didn’t read much this month since I was traveling for most of it and didn’t have any real downtime to read.
The Between - The main character’s journey was exhausting. And I still kind of don’t get how being “between” works.
Prophet Song - I actually bought this book because I thought it was set during The Troubles, but it’s speculative fiction about the near future. If I had looked more closely, I wouldn’t have bought it. Here I endured another exhausting main character. Although I rolled my eyes at the no-paragraphs-no-quotation-marks gimmick, some of the writing was lovely.
Ready for Revolution - Still going. I’ve plotted a course to finish this by February 1st because as good as it is I REALLY want to move on to some other nonfiction.
The Brothers Karamazov - A return to Dostoyevsky! A smooth, funny read so far.
