what i read in july

Quite an active month! And I’m 4 books ahead in my Goodreads challenge.

Ambiguous Adventure - Interesting... Definitely of its time. Frankly could have been a short story or novella.

Whatever - It starts of pretty normal then goes completely mental but I dug it.

Life, the Universe, and Everything - Ugh. There were a couple of witty moments but how am I supposed to remember all of those goofy names AND each planet and character’s history? Guess you had to be there.

Lost Prophet: the Life and Times of Bayard Rustin - Super interesting! It’s made me a lot smarter about the movement. The writing was just OK (he could have trimmed 30-50 pages) and (again) there were a bunch of names to remember. Maybe it’s just me.

The Sympathizer - Current work book club read. Starts off with a blast and maintains the intrigue. Lots of characters but they’re presented in contexts I can retain so no, it’s not just me. I’m loving this one.

How to Say Babylon - Current NapFam book club read. Been on my list for a minute so I’m glad it won the poll (if I had voted for my nominee it would’ve been a tie). It’s good so far.
